SmartGait is the first home-based tool to bring continuous, high-resolution gait monitoring and assessment by integration of virtual reality (VR), multi-sensor insoles, video-based motion tracking, and AI models. SmartGait detects gait problems early and giving clinicians reliable data to guide care.
System Architecture
Core components in SmartGait: clinical-grade smart insoles, VR headset, video-based motion system and AI models.
Monitoring and Assessment
AI model takes the pressure data and kinematic data and control the movement of avatar.
Kinematic Data
SmartGait integrates video-based gait analysis, like OpenPose, measure user’s kinematic data, such as joint angles, gait cycle timing, and foot clearance.
Foot pressure and balance
SmartGait uses each insole’s 16 pressure regions to track foot pressure and balance, identifying potential neurological problems.
